The Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial in Washington D.C. is a tribute to the 34th President of the United States and the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe during World War II. Designed by architect Frank Gehry and EDAW Inc. (now AECOM), it is located in a park-like plaza south of the National Mall. The memorial features large columns framing a tapestry depicting the Normandy landings, as well as sculptures and bas-reliefs in the park. The bronze statues of Eisenhower were created by Sergey Eylanbekov, with the tapestry by Tomas Osinski and inscriptions by Nicholas Waite Benson.
