Story Mill Community Park is an award-winning city park in Bozeman, Montana, located at the confluence of Bozeman Creek and the East Gallatin River. It was previously a thriving wetland area and wildlife corridor, which was impacted by decades of industrial development. The area was slated for residential and commercial development. But after the development plans failed, Trust for Public Land and our partners secured the land, and built Bozeman’s largest city park, with more than 15 acres of wetland restoration, climbing boulders, a nature playground, edible food forest, fishing access, and multiple community gathering and education areas.

I led design, community engagement, and construction planning activities for the park in partnership with the City of Bozeman and more than a dozen community-based partner organizations.
